Michael Douglas and Albert Brooks are the odd couple of the CIA set in a fast, funny remake of the 1979 original. Douglas is Steve, who says he’s a copier salesman but whose splashy lifestyle, not to mention the agents on his trail and the vial of nuclear material in his pocket, says otherwise. Brooks is Jerry, a podiatrist plunged feet first into Steve’s world and hilariously misidentified as the infamous “Fat Cobra”. For “a full-tilt onslaught of silly” (The Cincinnati Enquirer), everyone sooner or later has to meet The In-Laws.
